Ah, back from 2 weeks of getting married and honeymoon on Maui…It was a success and my wife and I couldn’t be happier…However, there’s another story that needs to be told.
…About a week before we left for Maui, I came home late from fishing and found a nicely wrapped package on my desk…My wife stood by with camera in hand so I was confused—”It’s not my birfday, it’s not any kind of anniversary, I didn’t get a promotion, wtf!?”
—”Just open it” She said…

…The pee stick doesn’t lie:

…As one of my friends put it “We weren’t too worried about trying not to try” but it definitely comes as a surprise and I couldn’t be happier:

So, we decided to break the news to our families during the reception dinner after the marriage ceremony last Saturday…Somehow, everybody seemed to know already! I guess that the extra “lovely lbs” are starting to show on my wife already…I joked about putting a padlock on the fridge…The expected arrival date? January 1st (we all know that the DAWGS won’t be at the Rose Bowl, or any bowl)…No kidding…

Once again, we couldn’t be happier…
Dude, Congrats x 2 with wedding AND kid! That’s F’in awesome. You’ll enjoy having a kid. I know I do and it sounds like Sk8 likes his little guy too.
Email me your address so I can send you something.
Holy shat! Congrats! One little word of advice, take the LaMaze classes, they are very educational and you will know what to expect when the time comes…and bank your sleep now…
Thanks a bunch guys…Yes, I will be taking the LaMaze classes…This is really going to cut into my fishing time.
Over twenty years ago I was tortured in LaMaze classes, pre-natal classes and subjected to each and every theory of “natural” child birth in book, pamphlet and video form.
Turns out both offspring were delivered so quickly she barely made it to the hospital. Lucky me.
All the best to you and your growing family. Congratulations!
“This is really going to cut into my fishing time”…you better believe it. You will need insomnia like me to get anything done. Your boozing will also decrease. Nothing worse than a crying kid when you are hungover. Ouch.
As for LaMaze, I had a really good experience. I learned a lot abot childbirth, what contractions are, and how everything “works” – so I didn’t freak out the first time my wife had a contraction.
It really came in handy when my wife went into labor. It isn’t all yelling and screaming, it is a long haul, and your wife will have contractions even a month before the birth.
But you will learn all of this, the classes I went to were only a total of 3 hours iirc.
Only 3 hours!?
The “ones” that we are signed-up for are a minimum of 8 hours…There goes that Saturday…
…All worth it to be prepared just in case; I’m new to this…
Also, I am praying for a 2009 arrival (NEW YEARS EVE!) for t@x purposes…Anyone else familiar with this!?
